what we care about

we at Journey Bar believe that we have a responsibility to help the less fortunate, which is why we are doing just that. Even as a startup, we want to instill in our company values that are important to us as founders, so that as we grow, our ability to make a positive impact on this world also grows.  while there are many needs around the world, we have decided to focus our time, energy and resources on two which are particularly close to our hearts…

the orphans of haiti

haiti is the poorest country in the western hemisphere. in recent history it has been crushed by political unrest, natural disasters, and disease, which has led to a whole host of problems in this country. one of which is a high and growing number of orphaned children. some estimates have put the current number of orphans in Haiti at over 700,000…some estimates are even higher. for a small country with a total population of less than 10 million people, this number is staggering.

we at journey bar are doing a small part in helping to care for some of these orphans by providing food, shelter, education and loving caretakers to watch over these children. our co-founder has also spent time in Haiti working with these children and continues to do so periodically.

our national parks

the US national park service oversees nearly 393 units (parks, monuments, historic sites, etc.) covering over 83 million acres. of these nearly 400 units, 58 are designated as national parks. from yellowstone to yosemite, to denali and the great smoky mountains, the US national park system includes some of the most spectacular natural scenery and wildlife in the country and in the entire world. we want to help make sure that these parks are protected for generations to come, which is why we are happy to support the national parks conservation association (www.npca.org) in their work to protect these national treasures.
