are journey bars gluten-free? although we have plans to introduce a gluten-free version of journey bars in the future, currently journey bars are wheat-free but not gluten-free. The reason for the distinction is due to our oats, which are not certified gluten-free. oats themselves do not contain gluten, but they are often processed/transported on equipment that also processes wheat, which can lead to small amounts of contamination.
how much protein does a journey bar have?
our bars have between 5-6 grams of protein. the protein found in journey bars come from the whole grains and almonds that we use as our base (and also the cheese in our parmesan romano bar). journey bar does not use protein isolates or concentrates to supplement protein levels. we instead stick with only real-food ingredients. this is not meant to be a protein bar, but a well-rounded healthy nutrition bar.
where are Journey Bars manufactured/made? journey bars are made locally in chicago. we want to support local resources as much as possible.
what is amaranth? amaranth is one of the key grains in our bars, along with flaxseed, oats, millet, and buckwheat. amaranth is an ancient grain from latin america which is high in protein and other nutrients, including iron and zinc. the aztecs called this a SUPER FOOD!
why are journey bar textures different? unlike many bars on the market that are loaded with sugars and sweeteners that provide that soft texture you’re accustom to, journey bar uses authentic ingredients for flavor and the baking process to naturally preserve our bars. because of this, the textures are tailored to complement each flavors.
does journey bar ship internationally? yes we do! please go to our buy online page.
